Art Business Incubator SPI was founded in 2019 as a way to stimulate the art economy on South Padre Island. The incubator program hosts up to 6 resident artists every year, providing studio space, gallery space, monetary stipends, and more for these artists’ small businesses to thrive.
The Art Fest was created to showcase the many other local artists in our area. The Art Fest also serves as a fundraiser for the Art Business Incubator. A portion of proceeds from the fest goes towards sustaining our 501(c)3 non-profit organization.

Thank you so much for your interest in participating in our Art Fest.
The purpose of Art Fest is to showcase the abundance of talent and potential that our local art community possesses.
Art Fest is a large outdoor art festival in South Padre Island, Texas showcasing up to 50 total local artist vendors at each event. In 2023, Art Fest will be hosted 4 times total throughout the year. This will allow the Art Business Incubator to market the event thoroughly so as to promote a larger turnout of customers/visitors to benefit the vendors who participate. Hours of the event may change depending on the season.
If vendor spots fill for any of the Art Fests, you may join the waitlist in the case of unforeseen changes. So, artists are encouraged to apply.
Participating artists will be chosen on a first-come-first serve basis and if we deem your artwork eligible for this particular event. Our process allows us to reflect on choosing a balance of artists that we believe will do well with our patrons, thus ensuring a more successful experience for all of our booth artisans.
All artists wishing to have a booth at the art fest must submit their application by the specified deadline (listed below):
The SATURDAY the week prior to the event.
Notifications about acceptance will be sent out within a week of receiving your application.

BOOTH INFORMATION
Your booth will not be reserved until the booth fee is paid. Please remember, the booth fee is non-refundable and cannot be transferred to later months.
Booth layout will be pre-determined by the organizers before your arrival. Artists are welcome to bring any display materials they feel are appropriate for their space. Upon arrival, please locate an event organizer to be shown your booth location.
The earliest artists may unload and set up for Art Fest 2 hours before the event start time. We require that all artists be ready to sell by the starting time of the event. An event organizer will be on hand to help you locate your space. Each artist will be responsible for bringing their own tables, chairs, and display materials.
Tables can be maximum 8 feet in length. Depending on the weather, South Padre Island can be very windy. It is up to the vendor to ensure all goods are anchored well to avoid damage to the item or potential harm to a pedestrian.
If an artist requests to bring an outdoor canopy, it may not be bigger than 10 x 10 feet. All canopies will be placed in the 2500 Plaza centered courtyard and, per city ordinance, must be sandbagged on all four corners and manned at all times. Canopies are not allowed along the front of the building or front courtyard per city code and ordinance.
Artists are also responsible for all of your own monetary transactions and we are not liable for your merchandise if you choose to leave it unattended at any time.
If the event is cancelled due to inclement weather, it is possible, although not guaranteed, that ABI will have the ability to reschedule Art Fest to another Saturday, so long as staffing resources are available.
RULES/REGULATIONS
1) Vendors are not allowed to rove with their merchandise at any time.
2) No music will be allowed in the vicinity of your booth.
3) ABISPI reserves the right to remove any work it does not consider suitable for a general audience of adults and children.
4) Artist may not set up early or leave early from the event.
5) Booth fee is due upon acceptance and is non-refundable. An invoice will be emailed to you for payment.
