RESIDENT SHOWCASE
Join us
in celebrating the culmination of
KARINA TORRES’ residency
Based on Brownsville, Karina celebrates the rich, natural world of the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) into breathtaking works of art.
Through a unique and compelling blend of detailed realism and abstract intensity, Karina’s technique captures both the astonishing beauty and the environmental fragility of marine life. Her work, full of vibrant color and intricate layers, is more than just a collection; it is a profound reflection of her personal storytelling and connection to the coastal ecosystems that inspire her.
This final exhibition celebrates Karina's incredible artistic journey, showcasing her spirit of exploration and deep love for the coast.
JOIN US FOR THE SPI ART WALK
ON THE FIRST FRIDAY OF THE MONTH
Come join our resident artists for fine art, conversation, charcuterie, and wine provided by Henrietta’s Bayfront. It’s a lovely way to celebrate a beautiful evening on the island with locals, as well as our friends enjoying a vacation getaway to SPI. See you there!
We are dedicated to giving emerging artists the support needed to establish and sustain themselves in our local economy.
Every year, five to six artists are accepted into the ABI SPI program. During this time, these art-related entrepreneurs are granted access to their own studio space and gallery space, along with many other invaluable resources, at no cost to them. Our staff works diligently to provide a comfortable and supportive learning environment for the in-resident artists as they develop and refine their business skills.
